When I joined I knew I wanted to participate in the Big Battlefield Bike Ride in aid of Help for Heroes.
This would improve my fitness levels and raise money for a very good cause. I completed the bike ride from Belgium to Western France, visiting battlefields and war graves, covering 400 miles. Definitely one of the biggest achievements of my life!
I’d been setting myself mini goals, but realised I needed more of a structured plan to include weights. So I built up my confidence to go for Personal Training sessions to help me get where I needed to be.
I had some big goals I wanted to achieve and knew at some point I would need some proper help to achieve them.
The team here at Helio were a massive help. They knew exactly how to help me get in shape for my charity events but they were also so friendly – I don’t know why I didn’t get a PT sooner! I feel like part of the Helio family and look forward to going to the gym, instead of it feeling like a chore.
My next target is to complete another Big Battlefield Bike Ride in September this year, from France to Brussels and Holland, again in aid of Help for Heroes. I know I’m in the right shape and have the mindset to complete this challenge and that’s with huge thanks to the whole team at Helio.
Meeting the goal
How he did it
From starting my journey last year I’ve seen an impact on my health and fitness levels. I’ve lost two stone and gained muscle strength. I have much more energy and feel great about myself. I try to train as much as I can, in and out the gym, to maintain my levels of fitness and I am working towards new goals.
